Focus and Scope

The Journal Interdisciplinary Horizon Research (TJIHR) publishes original research articles, review articles, and case studies that explicitly integrate theories, methodologies, or perspectives from two or more academic disciplines.

The primary focus of TJIHR is to explore new frontiers of knowledge (the horizons) in addressing complex global challenges through interdisciplinary approaches. The journal does not consider manuscripts that are limited to a single academic discipline (monodisciplinary).

The scope of TJIHR includes, but is not limited to, the following interdisciplinary fields:

  1. Technology, Digitalization, and Society
  • Social, cultural, and legal impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation.
  • Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) from psychological, sociological, and anthropological perspectives.
  • Digital Humanities and new media transformation.
  • Cyber governance, data ethics, and privacy in digital society.
  1. Health, Environment, and Sustainability
  • One Health approaches integrating human, animal, and environmental health.
  • The impacts of climate change on public health and food security.
  • Disaster management from geological, engineering, social, and psychological perspectives.
  • Sustainable urban planning and environmental ecology.
  1. Economics, Innovation, and Public Policy
  • Circular economy and green industrial technologies.
  • Bioeconomy, energy resilience, and renewable energy policies.
  • Financial Technology (FinTech) and its implications for financial inclusion and economic law.
  • Evidence-based public policy for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Public governance and institutional capacity development for inclusive governance.
  1. Science, Education, and Cross-Cultural Humanities
  • Development of interdisciplinary curricula and learning methods, including the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach.
  • Bioethics and the philosophical implications of advances in modern science.
  • Postcolonial studies, global migration, and socio-religious conflict resolution.
  • Science communication and public literacy in science and technology.

Manuscript Screening Criteria

To maintain the journal's interdisciplinary standards, the Editorial Board conducts an initial screening of all submitted manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Interdisciplinary Perspective: The manuscript must clearly demonstrate how two or more academic disciplines interact to address the research problem.
  • Novelty: The study should provide original insights or contributions that cannot be achieved through a single-disciplinary approach.
  • Methodological Rigor: The manuscript should employ a robust and appropriate research methodology, including mixed-methods research, interdisciplinary frameworks, or coherent cross-disciplinary theoretical synthesis.
